Bogdan Gavanski, Advocacy Manager

Bogdan Gavanski joined ISC in January 2007 as the Grant Officer for the Civil Society Advocacy Program. Prior to that, he worked as a national Programme Officer for Human Rights at the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade where he performed duties related to the Swedish development support to the civil society sector in Serbia and Montenegro.

Gavanski was responsible for the overall monitoring of the Swedish assistance in the field of Human Rights and Democracy, Media, Culture, Youth, Anti-trafficking and Gender, implemented by Swedish and other international and multilateral organizations, and eventually took over the Land Administration Reform and Rural Development projects in Southern Serbia. He was also performing a role of the Gender Focal point at the Embassy.

From October 2002 until October 2005, Bogdan Gavanski worked at the Delegation of the European Commission to Serbia and Montenegro as a Human Rights and Democratization Program Financial Officer. His main duties included participation in the formal aspects of the preparation of calls for proposals, supervision of the application of the EC Financial Regulations, and the compliance with the applicable rules in the operations. He also participated in the evaluation of project proposals and selection of beneficiaries, prepared grant agreements/contracts/addendums with the selected beneficiaries/contractors.

Bogdan Gavanski graduated from York University, North York, Ontario, Canada in May 1999 and was awarded Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours (Political Science major).
