Albert Cevallos, Chief of Party
back to staff listAlbert Cevallos joined ISC in July 2008 as the Chief of Party for the Serbia Civil Society Advocacy Initiative. Previous to ISC, Albert worked as a consultant with more than 13 years of experience in conflict resolution, human rights, democratization, media, and refugee programs in Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Cyprus, Rwanda, Cuba, Ecuador, Venezuela, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Albert has led groundbreaking programs in Iraq (designing and leading the first ever deployment of a US Government human rights team into an active conflict) and Kosovo (initiating the first contact between Serbian and Albanian political and civic leaders following the 1999 war) and has received numerous awards for his work, including four Superior Group Honor Awards presented by the US Government, a United Nations Association Human Rights Community Award and a Senior Fellowship at the U.S. Institute of Peace. He has worked for the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development, Freedom House, the International Crisis Group, Internews, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the MTV Europe Foundation—the division within MTV responsible for the organization’s social campaigns including those promoting human rights, anti-trafficking initiatives and youth employment programs. Albert has authored numerous articles on conflict resolution, human rights, and refugees. He appears regularly on television and radio and teaches at universities in Washington, D.C. He has an M.S. from the Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University and a B.A. in international relations and conflict resolution from the Catholic University of America.
