Mobile Advocacy School - Advocacy & Budget Advanced for Vojvodina Region and Presevo, Medvedja, Bujanovac

From June 15-16, in Andrevlje at Fruska gora ISC conducted advanced Mobile Advocacy School for CSOs based in Presevo, Vranje, Bujanovac and Vojvodina. This training represents higher level of the basic training held in December 2009 for the same group and was focused on advocacy campaigns strategic planning, based on national and local budgets monitoring. Participants who came from Vranje, Preševo, Bujanovac, Novi Sad, Sombor, Kikinda, Novi Becej, Temerin and Zrenjanin are members of various CSOs that have never been financially supported by ISC. This multiethnic group was trained Milos Djajic and Sinisa Djuric, ISC Advocacy Resource Persons (ARPs).

Mobile Advocacy School- Advocacy & Budget Advanced and Motivation & Communication for Eastern Serbia CSOs
24-25.05.2010.
From May 24-25, in Kladovo, ISC organized advanced Mobile Advocacy School (MAS) for CSOs based in Eastern Serbia region and this time with two topics. The group of CSOs from Bor, Zajecar, Donji Milanovac, Majdanpek, Knjazevac and Sokobanja that already gone through the initial basic- level training on Advocacy& Budgets was divided in two groups and provided with two different trainings. Advanced Advocacy& Budgets focused on advocacy campaigns strategic planning based on national and local budgets monitoring and was conducted by Mladen Jovanovic and Mirjana Barbulovic, prominent members of ISC ARP team of consultants. Motivation& Communication targeted improvement of participants’ capacities for efficient communication, where they were trained by Aleksandra Veselinovic, ISC training Director and experienced communication expert.

In the period of May 13-16, in Zlatibor, ISC held two advanced Mobile Advocacy Schools (MAS) for CSOs based in Sandzak Regioion, Sumadija and Zlatibor Region. These trainings focused on advocacy campaigns strategic planning, based on national and local budgets monitoring. Participants who came from Novi Pazar, Tutin, Prijepolje, Nova Varos, Priboj, Uzice, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Pozega, Bajina Basta and Cuprija are members of various CSOs that have never been financially supported by ISC. Both trainings were conducted by Mirjana Barbulovic and Zdenka Kovacevic, prominent members of ISC ARP team of consultants.

From April 22-23, also in Kladovo, basic MAS training was held for CSOs based in East Serbia and the Timok Regions. This training focused on elementary advocacy techniques and served for introduction of basic concepts of advocacy campaigns based on budget monitoring. Basic MAS provides practical instructions on how to observe municipal and national budget lines related to civil society development. The key purpose of the training is that participants understand better advocacy concepts, models and techniques implemented by ISC in Serbia.

On March 30-31, 2010, ISC organized Core Training on Communication and Media, in cooperation with Production Group MREZA. Conducted by prominent journalists, Lila Radonjic, Olja Beckovic and Maja Divac, this interactive workshop enables ISC AP grantees to learn more about key media appearance techniques. Following the training, an overwhelming number of participants reflected extremely positively on the training format that provides immediate test of new knowledge through number of practical exercises with professional TV journalists. Professional, well known Production Group MREZA and its TV Academy have designed and implemented tailor- made training cirriculum on media appearance for ISC AP grantees, since 2009. Previous media trainings done by ISC and MREZA resulted with developed media outreach skills of AP grantees. Addressing the public in electronic media in a direct, precise, concise and telling manner, increasing understanding of TV coverage and easier communication with the general public are also important outcomes of this particular training curriculum.

Today, ISC began implementing an intensive four-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for members of the ISC Advocacy Resource Persons (ARP) Team of consultants. The Interactive workshop introduced trainers with new techniques on how to utilize budget monitoring findings to develop effective advocacy campaigns.

25-26.02.2010. .
On February 25-26, 2010. ISC organized initial advocacy core training for the newest group of Advocacy in Practice grantees in Belgrade. This training event brought together 16 CSOs from Nis, Pozega, Belgrade, Cajetina, Pirot, Zrenjanin and Aleksinac, creating adequate space for introduction, communication and exchange of regional and working experience. Advocacy set of skills and techniques have been introduced by Sinisa Djuric and Milos Djajic, prominent members of ISC ARP team of consultants. Number of participants highlighted triangle analysis and constituency development as the most valuable techniques, to be easily implemented in their daily work.
